Career Staff

A full-time staff of career firefighters provides round the clock fire protection for the City of Peekskill. Today our staff consists of 20 Firefighters, 5 Lieutenants, and one Chief Officer.

In addition to responding to fire calls these firefighters are trained NYS EMTs and respond to assist the Peekskill Ambulance Corps on a daily basis. The Union also participates in many local community programs such as:  

  • Annual Fire Prevention Poster Contest
  • Annual Fire House Holiday Window Painting Contest
  • Salvation Army's Angle Tree Program
  • Halloween Trunk or Treat
  • Touch A Truck
  • Community School Supply Giveaway 


Volunteer Firefighters


The City of Peekskill Fire Department has Volunteer Companies supporting the career Staff in protecting our city. The City of Peekskill's volunteer firefighters are residents who lead active lives and still find time to be real "hometown heroes" as well. They are doctors, contractors, and automotive mechanics. They are commuters and local trades people. They are recent high school graduates and they are are 50 year veterans of the volunteer fire service.
