Solarize Peekskill
Program Overview
For the 2017 program, Solarize Westchester selected the City of Peekskill to participate in its solar energy discount campaign and outreach program, making installing solar electric systems simpler and more affordable for Peekskill residents and businesses. As a result of the successful campaign, more than 164,000 watts of solar energy were installed!
Solarize Peekskill was a voluntary program that encourages increased adoption of solar electricity systems by offering lower installation costs through economies of scale. Solarize Peekskill selected Ross Solar, a ConEdison Solutions Company, as the designated residential solar contractor and Sunrise Solar Solutions as the designated commercial solar contractor. Interested homeowners who expressed interest received a free site assessment and consultation.
Due to the program's successful execution, thirty new residential and three commercial solar panel contracts were signed. The Solarize Peekskill program demonstrates the City's commitment to sustainability efforts.

St. Patrick's Day Parade
- March 11, 2017
- Members from the Core Team marched in the City's annual St. Patrick's Day parade and spread the news about Solarize Peekskill.
- Launch Event - March 15, 2017
- Solarize Peekskill hosted a successful Launch Event on Wednesday, March 15, 2017, at the Peekskill Field Library. The event featured welcoming presentations by the City, Sustainable Westchester, and the selected residential (Ross Solar) and commercial (Sunrise Solar Solutions) installer teams and highlighted the environmental and economic benefits to solar energy and featured Peekskill residents' testimonials about their solar successes.
