Recreation Programs

See the following information on programs being offered. Check back often as we will be adding programs as space and protocols allow.

We will be sanitizing equipment regularly. Staff and participants must wear a mask while at the program. Your safety is our main concern. We hope to see you at some of these programs.

Residency

Legal City of Peekskill residents are defined as those who reside within the City Limits. Two proofs of residency will be required. An additional fee of $25 for nonresidents will be charged for all programs and trips, unless otherwise noted. In all programs, preference for residents will be made. Proofs may be emailed to the Parks and Recreation Department or faxed to 914-734-4229.

Enrollment

For most programs to be conducted, a minimum enrollment must be reached. In addition there is usually a maximum enrollment based on the facility size and the instructor's requirements. Therefore, registration is always on a first-come, first serve basis. We encourage early registration. Cash, checks, and credit cards are acceptable forms of payment. COVID-19 Protocols

Peekskill Recreation will follow all guidelines recommended and enforced by Federal, State, and Local Governments and Health agencies. Participants in recreation programs will be required to wear a mask and conform to social distancing rules. Recreation Health Screening forms must be submitted prior to each class. If your child has any positive symptoms as indicated on the form, or a temperature higher than 99.9° Fahrenheit, please refrain from bringing your child to the program. Temperatures will be taken prior to each class; no one with a temperature of 99.9° Fahrenheit or higher will be allowed to participate. If anyone is not allowed to participate in recreation programming due to positive symptoms and/or a temperature reading of 99.9° Fahrenheit or higher, a Doctor's clearance indicating a COVID-19 negative test result must be submitted in order to allow the participant to return to programs.

School Facilities

The City of Peekskill wishes to express its appreciation to the Peekskill City School District for its continued cooperation in allowing the Parks and Recreation Department's use of the public school facilities for recreation programs.

Insurance

The City of Peekskill's Department of Parks and Recreation cannot and does not provide medical insurance for participants in its programs.

Trip Policy

Sign up early. Trips may be canceled without sufficient registration.

Refund Policy

Requests must be submitted in writing to the Director. A $15 service fee will be assessed on all refund applications, except programs canceled for the following reasons:

  1. Class canceled or closed by the department.
  2. Participants moved from the City (Refunds will be pro-rated.)
  3. Illness of participants. Must present doctor's certificate. (Refunds will be pro-rated.)

Cancellation Policy

Notice will be sent through the online registration program - Community Pass - via email and text to those registered for programs that are canceled or changed. Please make sure we have the correct information for your household. Classes will be made up at the end of the session. For program cancellations please check our Facebook page or this website.

Return Check Policy

There will be a $25 charge for returned checks.

Senior Citizen Discount

All senior citizens are entitled to a 10% discount on all programs, and activities with the exception of trips and programs not payable to the City of Peekskill. Use of the Veterans' Memorial Pool is free to seniors. Tennis permits are available to seniors at half price.

Registration Information

The Recreation Office in Depew Park is open weekdays from 9 am to 4:45 pm (Summer Hours: 8:30 am to 3:45 pm, July 1 through Labor Day) You may register by mail or online as well.

Online Registration

Participants are able to register and pay for programs from the comfort of their home. You can pay by credit or debit card, or by echeck online.
