During the early morning hours, the City of Peekskill experienced a rupture on a water main on South Broad Street near the firehouse. An interruption to water service will affect a very limited number of residents in the area.

City staff is in the process of working to repair the break and it is unknown how long it will take to restore service. After the repairs are complete, normal water will again be restored to the distribution system affected and city residents may experience a discoloration in the water, but this can be cleared by running a water tap for a brief period.
