Art + Word:  The Intersection of Art and Story

Opening Reception: December 3, 12 - 4pm with Author Reading at 2pm

The Field Library Gallery is proud to present Art + Word: the Intersection of Art and Story, a collaborative show from artist Andrew Barthelmes and author Mark Wisniewski, two local residents.

The show will include Barthelmes’ paintings alternating with placards of quoted passages drawn from Show Up, Look Good, Wisniewski’s latest novel.  The relationship between paintings and passages will highlight the similarities in worldview of two artists who work in very different media.  By showing artwork and the written word together, the show will create an opportunity to explore how each artist portrays the dignity of working-class people and everyday situations.

A reception for the show will be held December 3 from noon to 4 pm. Wisniewski will read from Show Up, Look Good at 2pm with a signing to follow.
