It is my privilege to welcome all on the Internet to the City of Peekskill Police Department's Web Site and to express my pleasure for having the opportunity to provide an in-depth overview of the Department's operation and the diverse services we provide.

Employing 70 plus sworn personnel, the Department handles nearly 30,000 calls for service, effects in excess of 1,300 arrests and investigates over 1,300 crimes and incidents yearly.

Driven by a service oriented and community policing philosophy, the Department's organizational structure is divided into Patrol, Administrative, Inspectional and Support Services divisions. In addition to routine police services, the City of Peekskill Police Department deploys highly trained juvenile officers, a multi-disciplined tactical response unit, a narcotics enforcement unit and a community policing detail among other specialized units. With the commitment to providing an enhanced level of service to all segments of our diverse population, we strive to maintain a level of excellence through a continuing program of training, education and the willingness to adapt to emerging trends and technologies within our profession such as computerization, community policing, problem oriented policing and specialized training.
