The October 2010 edition of Westchester Magazine ranks the City of Peekskill as the 19th "Best Place to Live" in Westchester County. The publication reviewed information on all Westchester County municipalities and ranked them on eleven crtieria. The rankings included such categories as Diversity, Parks & Recreation, Housing Costs, Safety, Nightlife and Shopping. Each category was given a ranking of 1 to 10. The City of Peekskill was one of only two municipalities to recieve a ranking of 10 in four categories: Diversity, Housing Costs, Property Tax, Proximity to Water The Hudson River).
