Can’t wait until May 5th to celebrate Cinco de Mayo? Neither can Peekskill! On May 1st, Peekskill’s 4th Annual Cinco de Mayo celebration, in the heart of downtown Peekskill’s Historic and Artist District, will be packed with free entertainment including Mariachi bands, piñatas treats, prizes, games for the kids, dancing and authentic Mexican foods for the entire family to enjoy. Festivities begin at 1:00 pm and continue through 9:00pm with live performances including: Mariachi Juvenil Jiquilpan (Mariachi band); Ballet Folklórico Tonatiuh (Mexican dance company); Chicos Cumbia (Mexican band); Los Rufianes (Norteña band); and Los Leales (Norteña band). The Master of Ceremonies for the event is D.J. King.
The celebrations will be located at the center of Downtown Peekskill at the intersection of Central Avenue, Park St. and Division St. near the Gazebo. The streets will be closed to traffic, and there will be additional entertainment in the side streets and on the sidewalks.
