Within Peekskill's 4.5 sq. miles lie a diversity of commercial properties ranging from downtown historic buildings to heavy industrial facilities.

This begins with the Beach Shopping Center (pictured to the left),located in the eastern section of the city along Route 6, which has over 207,000 sq. ft. of retail and commercial spaces anchored by a Super Stop & Shop. In addition, the Blue Mountain Shopping Plaza is located just off Route 9 in the south western section of the city and is anchored by an A&P Grocery Store.

Peekskill's downtown is characterized by unmistakable urban activity, but with a smaller employment and retail base than Westchester County's major centers. The downtown business community provides a broad range of essential services to a wide surrounding area. The downtown is presently comprised of some mid-rise apartments for senior citizens and a number of two to three story buildings with residential uses over the commercial use on the ground floor.

Finally, the southwest section of the city is comprised of the light to heavy industrial uses located in Charles Point Industrial Park along John E. Walsh Boulevard and also located along Lower South Street. Some of Peekskill's major employers in this area inlcude BASF Corporation, Waste Management, White Plains Linen, and Perini Civil Construction.

UPDATE ON A 2010 COMMERCIAL SALE
White Plains Linen, a family owned Westchester company since 1938, paid $2.8 million cash to acquire a 30,000-square-foot flex property at 6 John Walsh Blvd.

The building adjoins the fine-linen rental company’s headquarters and distribution center at 4 John Walsh Blvd. White Plains Linen plans on building a 31,146 square foot addition proposed to connect the two existing structures at 4 and 6 John Walsh Boulevard. When complete, one 84,683 square foot facility would be located on the merged lots.

Founded in 1938 in White Plains by Polish immigrant Louis Botchman, the company moved to Peekskill in the 1980s and opened its current headquarters there in 1998. The founder’s grandson, Brue Botchman, is company president.
