REDEVELOPMENT OF 1028 MAIN STREET
The City of Peekskill had retained ADL III Architecture PC of Northport, NY and Seth Harry Associates Inc. as ADL’s sub consultant, to conduct a study of Central Avenue/South Water Street Corridor (Study Area) in order to develop strategies and framework for development which would encourage mixed use consistent with the historic nature of the surrounding community.
Leaves can be bagged in biodegradable paper bags and brought to the City Garage on Saturday mornings.

One of Peekskill's busiest intersections and entrance way into dowtown is going to receive a big improvement in 2011, as Walgreens Pharmacy gets ready to open thier first store in Northern Westchester County. This is one of three Walgreens which broke ground in Westchester County in 2010 by Marc Steinberg of Mark Investments, Inc.

Main Street Commons which is being developed by The Puddingstone Group of North Haledon, NJ is a 21,750 sq. ft. commercial center which will have national retailer Auto Zone as its anchor tenant (7,500 sq. ft.). The redevelopment of this 2.1 acre site, also includes upgrading the façade of an existing on site business Beverage World.
The City of Peekskill’s downtown was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in May 2005. The defined area covers over 150 buildings. It joins with 12 other sites or neighborhoods within the city that are also included on the register.
